De hoogste nieuwe binnenkomer deze week is een prachtige plaat van Harold Melvin en de Blue Notes : Satisfaction Guaranteed. Een andere hele mooie nieuwe binnenkomer vind je op nummer 49 : Het dorp van Wim Sonneveld. De Cats staan stationair op nummer 1 met Be my day. Een van mijn persoonlijke favorieten staan op nummer 41 : Cape Canary met West Virginia. Deze week hebben we een stokoude plaat als treiterschijf. Stationair op nummer 20 in de Troef 20 staat Leo Unger met Run to the sunshine. Een favoriete plaat van “hardlopers”.

By 4 May 1974 RNI had only just under 4 months still to go, but there were still some changes to the International Service to come. In the second half of May 1974 Graham Gill left RNI after 14 months to return to Radio Caroline. Following his departure, the International Service team included Brian McKenzie, Don Allen, Robin Banks and Roger Kent. There was also the Skyline programme from 4.00 to 6.00 with Louise Quirk, but she did not really present these programmes. She knew Don Allen from his Manx Radio days and had just recorded a few links for RNI and these were placed in continuous music programmes so as to make it appear that she was presenting the programmes. Graham would be replaced right at the end of May.

On the Dutch Service the programme schedule from Monday to Friday in May was:

Marc van Amstel was still with RNI, but was based on land providing holiday cover for the land-based DJs.

Ferry Maat went on holiday in May 1974 and the Super Top 50 programmes were presented on Saturdays 11 and 18 May 1974 by Dick de Graaf. At this time the Troef 20 was usually presented by Leo van der Goot, but, on 4 May 1974, it was presented by Erik Post.
